DJIBOUTI – Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi, the Commissioner of the Somali Police Force (SPF), participated in a notable graduation ceremony in Djibouti today, signifying the conclusion of training for the 23rd cohort of Somali Police Darwish forces.

The occasion highlighted the preparedness of the new officers, who completed intensive training to enhance Somalia’s national security capabilities. Addressing the graduates, Brig. Gen. Abdullahi praised their commitment and perseverance throughout the program. He underscored the vital importance of the Darwish unit in national stability and counter-terrorism efforts.

“You form the protective barrier of our country. The capabilities and training you’ve received in Djibouti will be crucial for our continued work to establish peace and security throughout Somalia,” the SPF Commissioner remarked.

The event was joined by prominent dignitaries from Djibouti’s governmental and security sectors, demonstrating the robust bilateral security relationship between the two countries. Djibouti has consistently supported Somalia by providing training and capacity development for its military forces, playing a substantial role in reconstructing the nation’s security frameworks.

The newly commissioned Darwish officers will soon be assigned to different locations across Somalia, where they will engage in current missions to safeguard cleared territories and ensure civilian protection.
