The Somali Police Force’s Bomb Disposal Squad has received a boost with new explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) equipment, handed over by the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) in a brief ceremony.
Police Commissioner General Asad Osman and the United Nations Transition Mission in Somalia (UNTMIS) Deputy Special Representative Raisedon Zenenga attended the event, which is part of a 3-year project supported by Japan.
This initiative aims to enhance the squad’s capacity to respond to and neutralize explosive threats, contributing to public safety and security across Somalia.
