Somalia plans to use taxation as a means for reducing the use of tobacco products.
Dr. Ali Haji Adam, the Minister of Health, said this on Tuesday.
He spoke while addressing the virtual High-Level Meeting on Tobacco and Nicotine Products Taxes.
Dr. Adam informed participants of the importance of taxation in tackling tobacco use.
The minister added that tobacco prevalence is much higher in the country than before.
He added that tobacco prevalence could impact public health negatively too.
