The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) is to regulate the importation of medical products and medicated cosmetics into the country.
The Ministry of Health made this announcement via a press statement published on July 15.
Items that would be regulated by the ministry from July 20 include medicines, medical devices, biologics, and herbal medicines.
Others include medicated cosmetics.
Henceforth, the government expects importers to apply for services such as registration, permit licenses, and inspection.
They are expected to adhere to quality control standards too.
