Somalia’s New Internal Security Minister Reports for Duty

Abdullahi M. Nur, Somalia’s new Minister of Internal Security, reported for duty on Thursday, September 9.

Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble had appointed Nur the new internal security minister a day ago.

Nur takes over from the sacked Hassan Hundubey Jimale.

The Prime Minister relieved Jimale from his duties on Wednesday.

Jimale’s sacking was the second one by Roble after that of Fahad Yasin, the immediate former Director of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA).

Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, the Minister of Justice, led other senior officials from the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) to witness his colleague’s taking over of the internal security docket.
