Speaker Abdi Hashi of the Upper House (Senate) has called for the nullification of the results of elections for 16 parliamentary seats.
Hashi made this call on December 7.
He was speaking after winning elections that allow him to represent Somaliland in the federal parliament.
Speaker Hashi stated that the elections have been fraudulent and lacking in transparency.
“The ongoing electoral process would not receive the credibility it deserves if these elections are allowed to stand,” Speaker Hashi clarified.
