Mogadishu, Somalia – The Mayor of Mogadishu, Hassan Mohamed Mungab, on Tuesday handed over critical medical supplies to Members of Parliament representing the HirShabelle constituency.
The donation aims to bolster support for the National Armed Forces and local fighters engaged in operations against terrorist groups in the Hiiraan region.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Mayor Mungab praised the bravery and resilience of the forces on the frontlines and reaffirmed the capital’s solidarity with those defending national stability.
“This support is a symbol of unity and recognition of the sacrifices made by our heroes in Hiiraan,” the mayor stated.
The MPs pledged to deliver the supplies promptly to the intended beneficiaries and emphasized the importance of continued support from government institutions to sustain the fight against terrorism.
The initiative is part of broader efforts by Somali authorities to enhance frontline support and demonstrate national cohesion in the face of ongoing security challenges.
