Somali PM Urges New Police Chief to Prioritize War on Terrorism

Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre emphasized that the newly appointed Police Commissioner would leverage his vast experience in counterterrorism to enhance the capabilities of the police force.

The Prime Minister expressed optimism that the Commissioner would accelerate initiatives to bolster security and prevent terrorist activities across the country.

He was speaking at a handing over event held at the police headquarters in Mogadishu.

Brig. Gen. Sulub Ahmed Firin handed over the office to his replacement, Brig. Gen. Asad Osman Abdullahi Diyaano on Wednesday.

PM Barre expressed his utmost belief in the ability of the new police chief to secure the country against terrorists.

This strategic appointment is seen as a crucial step in Somalia’s ongoing fight against terrorism and efforts to maintain stability.
