Amara has become the latest town in Somalia to be liberated from Al-Shabaab militants.
Somali National Army (SNA) troops carried out a successful counterterrorism operation in the town on Monday..
They managed to run Al-Shabaab militia out of the town.
The SNA troops worked jointly with Galmudug Regional Forces as well as local community in the operation.
Amara is a town in Mudug, Galmudug.
