Electoral Commission Team Visits Baidoa to Discuss Democratic Preparedness

BAIDOA — A senior delegation from the Independent Electoral and National Boundaries Commission (IENBC) arrived in Baidoa today to evaluate electoral readiness and advance the nation’s democratic development.

The team, led by Communication Commissioner Abdikarin Ahmed Hassan, includes Commissioner Yusuf Abdukadir Mohamed and Commission Secretary Hussein Nunow Ali.

Assessing Operational Preparedness

According to officials, this mission is part of a broader consultation initiative focused on examining electoral operations and gauging the preparedness of regional bodies for forthcoming democratic exercises.

While in the South West State capital, the Commission’s leadership is scheduled to engage in multiple discussions with high-ranking regional officials.

Talks with President Laftagareen

The consultations will commence with a meeting with South West State President H.E. Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed (“Laftagareen“).

The agenda reportedly concentrates on advancing electoral arrangements, enhancing coordination between federal and state levels, and executing established democratic structures.

The visit highlights the Commission’s stated commitment to fostering a reliable and transparent electoral system through comprehensive engagement with Federal Member States.
