President Ahmed Islam Madobe of the regional state of Jubbaland has appointed a representative to Kenya.
The President settled on Sadik Abdullahi Bogale to represent Jubbaland in Kenya.
In making the appointment, President Madobe stated that he relied on Article 72 of Jubbaland’s constitution which empowers him to form his administration.
Nevertheless, the move is likely to attract heat from Mogadishu.
After all, Jubbaland is a regional state thus incapable of appointing a foreign representative. Only the federal government has such powers as per the dictates of the Provisional Constitution.
