Beijing, China – Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdisalam Ali, has arrived in China to attend the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Ministerial Meeting and the 4th China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo.
According to an official statement, the visit underscores Somalia’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic and economic relations with China, with the goal of boosting cooperation, attracting investment, and advancing mutual development.
“This visit aims to foster increased cooperation, attract investment, and promote mutual development between Somalia and China, reflecting the country’s strategic focus on regional integration and economic growth through international partnerships,” the statement read.
The expo brings together African and Chinese leaders, investors, and business figures to discuss opportunities for collaboration, trade, and infrastructure development.
Somalia is expected to highlight key sectors for investment, including energy, ports, fisheries, and agriculture.
Abdisalam’s participation marks a continuation of Somalia’s efforts to expand its global partnerships and secure economic growth through diplomacy and trade.
